Ingredients

  • 400g Pappardelle pasta
  • 500g ground beef or pork
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
  • 120ml heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil and cook the pappardelle according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Add the ground meat to the skillet, breaking it apart, and cook until browned.
  4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and heat through until fully integrated.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss gently until evenly coated.
  7. Serve in bowls with grated Parmesan and fresh herbs on top.
