- 400g Pappardelle pasta
- 500g ground beef or pork
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 celery stalk, diced
- 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
- 120ml heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil and cook the pappardelle according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the ground meat to the skillet, breaking it apart, and cook until browned.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and heat through until fully integrated.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss gently until evenly coated.
- Serve in bowls with grated Parmesan and fresh herbs on top.

Feel free to customize the dish with seasonal ingredients or swap meat for lentils for a vegetarian option.
