Description

Experience the vibrant flavors of Vietnam with these delightful Banh Mi sandwiches, featuring savory grilled meat, tangy pickled vegetables, and fresh herbs all tucked in a crispy baguette.


Ingredients

  • 1 Baguette
  • 1 pound Pork tenderloin (or chicken or tofu)
  • 1 cup Pickled carrots
  • 1 cup Pickled daikon radish
  • 1 Cucumber, sliced
  • 1 cup Fresh cilantro
  • 1-2 Sliced jalapeños
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Cook the pork, chicken, or tofu according to your preference until golden-brown.
  2. Mix vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl and toss in the sliced carrots and daikon; let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Slice the baguette lengthwise, then toast it lightly if desired.
  4. Spread mayonnaise on the inside of the baguette.
  5. Layer in the cooked meat, pickled vegetables, cucumber slices, cilantro, and jalapeños.
  6. Drizzle soy sauce, season with salt and pepper, then close and slice the sandwich in half.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy the burst of flavor!
