- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a donut pan with non-stick spray.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Add unsweetened applesauce and honey or maple syrup, stirring until well combined.
- Combine the whole wheat flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just incorporated.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold two-thirds full.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
