- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl and let it froth for about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt, and make a well in the center.
- Pour the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs into the well and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough, divide it into equal portions, and shape into balls.
- Place the balls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter before serving.
