Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped pecans


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking dish by greasing or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, light brown sugar, vegetable oil (or melted butter), and eggs. Whisk until smooth and glossy.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, mix together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed in the batter.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
