Description

A delightful hybrid of a donut and focaccia, topped with your favorite jam, perfect for brunch or a sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • Jam of your choice (raspberry, strawberry, or lemon curd)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Pour warm milk into a large bowl, sprinkle in sugar, and stir in yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, melted butter, and egg to the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll out the risen dough and create indentations for filling with jam.
  7. Fill each well with jam and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly on a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
