A comforting and indulgent twist on classic grilled cheese with crispy bacon, tart apples, and rich cheddar, elevated by a drizzle of maple syrup.
Ingredients

- 2 slices of hearty bread (sourdough or thick-cut white)
- 2 slices of sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 slices of crispy bacon, cooked
- 1 small apple, thinly sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- Butter, softened, for grilling
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain on a paper towel.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
- Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet.
- Layer the cheddar cheese, sliced apples, and bacon on top.
- Top with another slice of cheddar cheese and the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Drizzle maple syrup over the top.
- Grill for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then carefully flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and cheese is melted.
- Slice and serve warm.
