Description

A comforting and indulgent twist on classic grilled cheese with crispy bacon, tart apples, and rich cheddar, elevated by a drizzle of maple syrup.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of hearty bread (sourdough or thick-cut white)
  • 2 slices of sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices of crispy bacon, cooked
  • 1 small apple, thinly sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Butter, softened, for grilling


Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain on a paper towel.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
  3. Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer the cheddar cheese, sliced apples, and bacon on top.
  5. Top with another slice of cheddar cheese and the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  6. Drizzle maple syrup over the top.
  7. Grill for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then carefully flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and cheese is melted.
  8. Slice and serve warm.
