Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, instant yeast) in a mixing bowl.
  2. Gradually pour in cold milk and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface and wrap it in plastic. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  4. Beat the cold butter between parchment paper into a flat rectangle.
  5. Roll out the chilled dough to 1/2-inch thick and place the butter in the center.
  6. Fold the dough over the butter, sealing it well.
  7. Roll and fold the dough several times, chilling between folds to maintain the butter’s firmness.
  8. Roll out the final dough to a large rectangle and cut into triangles.
  9. Roll each triangle from the base to the tip, tucking the end under to shape the croissant.
  10. Let the shaped croissants rise until puffy, then brush with egg wash.
  11. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake croissants for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Allow to cool slightly before enjoying!
