  • 45 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and brown the ground beef for 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat, then add chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until onions are soft, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. In the prepared baking dish, spread the cooked beef mixture evenly.
  5. Layer thinly sliced potatoes over the beef, sprinkling with salt, pepper, dried Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan.
  7. Pour beef broth around the edges of the casserole, then cover with aluminum foil.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.
