- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup cranberry jam
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, ground ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, shape into balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Make an indentation in each ball with your thumb.
- Fill each thumbprint with cranberry jam.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden-edged.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
