Description

This fake BBQ chicken in air fryer slow cooker is the ultimate weeknight solution—tender, saucy, and crisped to perfection without using a grill.

Ingredients

2 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts

1 cup BBQ sauce (divided)

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray or olive oil

Instructions

1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic and onion powder.

2. Place chicken in slow cooker with half the BBQ sauce.

3. Cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.

4. Remove chicken, drain excess liquid, and brush with remaining sauce.

5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F.

6. Place chicken in air fryer basket in a single layer.

7. Cook 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway and brushing again with sauce.

8. Serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

You can shred the chicken after air frying for pulled chicken sandwiches.

Use bone-in chicken if preferred, adjusting the cook time slightly.

Make it smoky by adding 1/4 tsp liquid smoke in the slow cooker stage.
