- 3 cups mashed potatoes (prepared from about 3 large potatoes)
- 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for 6-8 minutes, then drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until onions are translucent (3-4 minutes).
- Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables and cook until heated through.
- Add tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; mix well and let simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in a baking dish.
- Top with prepared mashed potatoes, creating a smooth layer over the beef.
- Dot with butter and sprinkle with cheddar cheese if using.
- Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
