Description

Indulge in rich dark chocolate and tart cranberries with these decadent magic bars, perfect for festive gatherings or cozy evenings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt (for crust)
  • 200 g dark chocolate, chopped
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • Pinch of sea salt (for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and sea salt.
  3. Add the melted butter and mix until crumbly. Press into an 8×8 baking dish.
  4. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream until simmering, pour over the chopped dark chocolate, and whisk until smooth.
  6. Stir in 1 tablespoon unsalted butter and vanilla extract.
  7. In a saucepan, cook the cranberries with orange juice, honey, and orange zest for 6 to 8 minutes until they burst and thicken.
  8. Pour the chocolate ganache over the baked crust, then spoon the cranberry mixture on top and swirl.
  9. Return to the oven for another 8 to 10 minutes.
  10. Let cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes, then chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  11. Cut into 12 equal bars and serve.
