Description

Indulge in the warmth of Creamy Swedish Meatballs, a dish that envelops you in comfort with its rich flavors and velvety sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Shape into small meatballs.
  2. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown on all sides. Remove from the skillet.
  3. Add flour to the skillet and whisk for about a minute. Gradually pour in beef broth, whisking until smooth.
  4. Stir in heavy cream, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Return meatballs to the skillet and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Serve over egg noodles or mashed potatoes, drizzled with sauce and garnished with parsley or dill.

Notes

Add cinnamon and diced apples for a fall twist or chili flakes for a spicy kick. Substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
