Description

A comforting dish of layers of thinly sliced potatoes mingled with rich cream and melted cheese, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds of potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of butter


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, combine heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper; whisk together.
  4. Pour half of the creamy mixture over the first layer of potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle half of the grated cheddar and parmesan over the creamy layer.
  6. Add the sliced onions evenly over the cheese layer.
  7. Add remaining potato slices, pour the rest of the cream mixture, and top with remaining cheese.
  8. Dot the top with butter, cover with foil, and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Consider adding fresh herbs or spices for flavor variations. You can include sautéed mushrooms or spinach for added nutrition.
