Ingredients

- 2 pounds of potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper; whisk together.
- Pour half of the creamy mixture over the first layer of potatoes.
- Sprinkle half of the grated cheddar and parmesan over the creamy layer.
- Add the sliced onions evenly over the cheese layer.
- Add remaining potato slices, pour the rest of the cream mixture, and top with remaining cheese.
- Dot the top with butter, cover with foil, and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Consider adding fresh herbs or spices for flavor variations. You can include sautéed mushrooms or spinach for added nutrition.
