Description

A comforting dish with crispy bacon and melted cheddar cheese on juicy chicken breasts, smothered in smoky barbecue sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the bacon in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat until crispy (about 5–7 minutes), then set aside on paper towels.
  3. Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil and season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Sear the chicken in the skillet over medium-high heat for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Lower the heat to medium and pour barbecue sauce over the chicken, then sprinkle cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon on top.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and red pepper flakes if desired before serving.
