- 1 lb chicken sausage, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 ½ cups orzo pasta
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cups chicken broth
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, then remove from skillet.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
- Add broccoli florets and sauté until slightly softened.
- Add orzo pasta to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Pour in chicken broth, bring to a gentle simmer, and cover. Cook for 10-12 minutes until orzo is al dente.
- Stir the chicken sausage back into the skillet and mix well.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top, season with salt and pepper, and serve hot.
Notes
For seasonal variations, consider adding roasted butternut squash in the fall or cherry tomatoes in the summer.
