A savory and flavorful Korean chicken dish that combines tender marinated chicken with vibrant spices, perfect for family gatherings or intimate dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

- Extra chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, chopped green onions, black pepper, and chili flakes until combined.
- Slice the chicken into thin strips and toss in the marinade, ensuring it’s well coated. Marinate for at least 20 minutes.
- Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
- Transfer the chicken to a serving plate, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and serve immediately.
Notes
For added flavor, allow the chicken to marinate for up to two hours if time allows. Serve with rice or in lettuce wraps for a delightful twist.
