A comforting and classic green bean casserole featuring creamy mushroom soup and crispy fried onions.
Ingredients

- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 4 cups cut green beans (2 cans (14.5 oz each), drained, or 1.5 lbs fresh blanched)
- 1 1/3 cups French fried onions (divided: 2/3 cup for mixing, 2/3 cup for topping)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (to taste)
- Cooking spray (for dish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9×9 inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
- If using fresh green beans, blanch them in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain. If using canned, drain well.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and whole milk until smooth, then stir in the soy sauce.
- Gently mix in the green beans and 2/3 cup of French fried onions, seasoning with black pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then stir gently and top with the remaining 2/3 cup of fried onions.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
