Description
Soft and chewy cake bars made in one pan. Perfect for snacking, school lunchboxes, or casual desserts. This recipe is simple, flexible, and bakes in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or nuts
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 pan.
2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
3. Add dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
4. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
5. Spread evenly into pan.
6. Bake 25–30 minutes until golden edges appear.
7. Cool completely before slicing into bars.
Notes
Swap chocolate chips with berries or coconut.
For gluten-free, use 1:1 GF flour.
Stores well in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
