Description

A delightful breakfast bake featuring soft, flaky croissants and vibrant mixed berries, perfect for brunch or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 croissants, slightly stale or a day old
  • 2 cups mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or blackberries)
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for garnish)
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice croissants into halves or quarters and arrange them in the baking dish.
  3. Scatter mixed berries evenly over the croissant pieces.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  5. Pour the custard over croissants and berries, gently pressing down to soak the croissants.
  6. Let the mixture rest for 15–20 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and set. Allow to cool slightly.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving warm.

Notes

Serve with a drizzle of maple syrup or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
