Meet Mae
Welcome to The Recipe Lounge — I’m so glad you’re here!
Hi there! I’m Mae, a 38-year-old home cook living just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, where the kitchen is the heart of my home—and usually the messiest room, too!

I started cooking out of necessity when I became a mom. Between diaper changes, playdates, and the never-ending laundry, dinner often snuck up on me like a forgotten dentist appointment. But I’ve always believed that food is love. And even when life gets hectic (which it always does), I wanted my family to sit down to something warm, comforting, and made with heart.
Over the years, I’ve gone from frazzled weeknight scrambler to someone who finds real joy in the rhythm of the kitchen—even if that rhythm is often interrupted by “Mom, I’m starving!” at 4 p.m. That’s why I created recipes that are fast, fuss-free, and still full of flavor. You won’t find anything overly fancy here—just real food for real life. Think: one-pot wonders, slow cooker saviors, and no-bake desserts that can be whipped up while helping with homework.
I’m not a professional chef—I’m a professional mom with a love for feeding people well. And I get that sometimes dinner needs to happen in 30 minutes or less, using pantry staples and minimal dishes. That’s my sweet spot. My recipes are tested in a real home kitchen (complete with picky eaters and last-minute grocery substitutions), and I’ll always share the flops right alongside the favorites, because that’s real life.
My style? Simple, homey, and maybe a little old-school. I measure garlic with my heart and believe butter can fix almost anything. I’m here to help you save time, stress less, and maybe even have a little fun along the way.
So, grab a mug of something warm and stay awhile. The Recipe Lounge is where we keep it cozy, creative, and always delicious.
From my kitchen to yours—with love and a wooden spoon,
Mae
