Meet Mae
Welcome to The Recipe Lounge. I’m so glad you’re here!
Hello and welcome. I’m Mae, a 38-year-old home cook living just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. In my home, the kitchen is the heart of everything and yes, often the messiest room too.

I started cooking out of necessity when I became a mom. Between diaper changes, playdates, and mountains of laundry, dinner had a way of sneaking up on me. But I’ve always believed that food is a way to show love. Even during the busiest days, I wanted my family to gather around something warm, comforting, and made with care.
Over time, I went from scrambling through weeknight dinners to genuinely enjoying the rhythm of cooking. Of course, that rhythm is still often interrupted by little voices calling out “Mom, I’m hungry” long before dinner is ready. That’s why I create recipes that are quick to make, easy to follow, and full of flavor.
You won’t find anything too fancy here. Just real food for real life. Think of one-pot meals, slow cooker favorites, and no-bake desserts you can make while helping with homework. All my recipes are tested in a real family kitchen with all the usual chaos, substitutions, and picky eaters included.
I’m not a professional chef. I’m a mom who loves to feed people well. I understand that dinner sometimes has to come together in thirty minutes or less using ingredients you already have and as few dishes as possible. That’s exactly what I aim for. I also believe in keeping it honest, so I’ll always share the flops right along with the favorites.
My style is simple, homey, and a little old-fashioned. I measure garlic with my heart and truly believe that butter can fix almost anything. My hope is to help you save time, enjoy cooking a bit more, and feel confident in the kitchen.
So pour yourself a warm drink, take a deep breath, and make yourself at home. The Recipe Lounge is a cozy, welcoming space for simple meals and shared moments around the table.
From my kitchen to yours, with love and a wooden spoon
Mae
